Welcome
to Red Star Australia
The only sane and rational way for human beings to live together
is according to the principle "One for all, all for one".
Selfishness is learned from social experience, it is not part
of human nature.

What is the situation?
Australia has become a land of inequality, alienation,
loneliness, and hidden hardship. Australia is one of the richest
countries in the world which contains more than enough wealth
for everyone. Therefore all our sufferings are man-made.
Poverty is a relative concept. It can only exist where there
is inequality. One cannot be poor unless another is rich,
and vice-versa. There is great, and growing, inequality in
Australia. For all the talk about abolishing poverty, we are
actually generating more.
How
is it being created?
As Red Star's contribution to reaching the theoretical
clarity necessary for effective action, we analyse here three
very important causes of poverty and injustice in this country.
These are:
- The
attack on the wages, conditions and rights of employed workers
(including the " Work Choices")
- The
attack on the entitlements, and rights of unemployed workers
(for example "Welfare to Work")
- The
hypocrisy of those who claim to serve the public but who
really only serve themselves.
What
can be done?
40,000 lives were lost in the terrible natural disaster
which struck the shores of Sri Lanka in December 2004. A great
deal can be learned from the way the Sri Lankans organised
to face their adversity. In a less dramatic but equally tragic
way, the poverty that has engulfed Australia today is washing
away very many people's lives. The effects of poverty are
usually hidden from view, suffered in private, so that others
who are more fortunate even deny its widespread existence.
This site is dedicated to stopping this unnatural, entirely
unnecessary calamity.
This great aim can only be achieved if Australians unite.
Since this is a political question, politics cannot be avoided
or left to the professional politicians. Neither can welfare
be left to the caring professionals who claim to know more
about it than anyone else.
The motive of service to the people should not be personal
gain or payment. By the valiant actions of their members,
Red Star Sri Lanka has already proved this to be no idealistic
principle. We aim to carry their noble traditions to Australia,
so none of the money donated to us is ever spent on wages
or salaries.
